As the state’s only business that leases out Argos, Wasilla-based Alaska Argos Rentals LLC is filling a unique niche in the marketplace. The veteran-owned company also has a distinctive mantra that guides its approach to serving customers. “Tell me what Argo you want, where you want it, and when you want it, and I’ll make sure it happens,” explains owner Brandon King.

Alaska Argo Rentals provides amphibious, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) statewide to companies, government agencies, Alaska Native businesses, and individuals that need to access hard-to-reach places. Argo ATVs—perfectly designed to transport cargo and people across land and water—are built for the toughest road conditions and climates. The well-equipped vehicles are ideal for supporting the oil and gas industry; remote construction, exploration, and real estate; recreational fishing and hunting; and movie production, environmental cleanup, and emergency response. “My Argos are always 100 percent ready to go at a moment’s notice,” King says.

A Flexible Solution
Whether it’s supplying vehicles to the Alaska Bureau of Land Management for an archaeology study in Glennallen or ATVs to private search and rescue teams, Alaska Argo Rentals offers a fleet of high- performance machines. The premium Aurora 950 SX model features a powerful 40-horsepower engine, large 14-gallon fuel tank, and bush tracks fabricated in Wasilla specifically for Alaska’s environment. The tracks, comprised of high-density plastic, deliver significantly better traction than wheels, so they can easily traverse mud, snow, and challenging terrain.

Alaska Argo Rentals offers highly accessorized utility vehicles with all the essentials: light bars, removable winches, windshields and wipers, spare gas cans, extra straps with anchors, a spare belt, a small tool kit, a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, and recovery equipment. “We outfit these Argos so that customers don’t have to go out and buy extra things,” King says. “When we provide a service, everything is included.”

The company also gives customers the convenience and flexibility of leasing for as little as thirty days up to several years. This enables them to avoid the requirements of being an owner, including paying the typical $40,000 purchase price, hiring a mechanic, and finding parts for repairs and maintenance. “We deal with the maintenance, insurance, warranty, and everything else,” King says. “It’s easier to rent an Argo from us than buy a brand new one.”

The Latest Equipment
Alaska Argo Rentals also has other equipment available to rent with its Argos such as flatbed trailers and a heavy duty pickup truck. To keep its fleet updated, the company is adding 2023 and 2024 models of the Aurora 950. And additional products are on order to meet customers’ broader needs, including new Can-Am side by sides and Ski-Doo snowmachines.

Businesses, government entities, and individuals throughout Alaska can rely on Alaska Argo Rentals to meet their all-terrain equipment needs. “We can handle all the modifications and designs and maintain all the equipment for them,” King says. “All they have to do is lease it from us and enjoy the benefits—all without the hassle of ownership.”
