Danicia Shiryayev, now Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, joined Northrim in 2016 and has more than twelve years of experience in the banking industry. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting at UAS. Shiryayev is a board member of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.
Katie Bender, now Vice President, Community and Public Relations Manager, has been with Northrim since 2013 and has more than seventeen years of experience in communications and public relations. She holds a masters of public administration degree from UAA and is the board president of the UAA Alumni Association.
Edwin Strupulis, now an Assistant Branch Manager, Float Pool has been with Northrim since October 2020 and has five years of experience in banking. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at UAA.
Kevin Tillotson comes to Northrim as Senior Vice President and Regional Market Manager after thirty-three years in the financial industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University. Tillotson has been involved in the Juneau Chamber of Commerce and the Alaska Travel Industry Association.
Steve Manley joins Northrim as Vice President, Loan Officer with ten years of experience in banking. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UAA. A lifelong resident of Soldotna, Manley serves on the board of the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank and was a past president.
Rena Dalman brings ten years of experience in banking with her in her new role as Associate Vice President, Treasury Management Business Banker. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Fort Lewis College in Colorado and is a member of the Greater Juneau Chamber of Commerce.
Paul Dombroski comes to Northrim as Associate Vice President and Loan Officer with more than twenty years of commercial banking experience throughout the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.
Lloyd Malpaya joins the Jewel Lake Branch as Assistant Branch Manager with nearly nine years of experience in the financial industry.
Residential Mortgage is hiring a new Chief Operating Officer. Mike Baldwin joins Residential Mortgage with thirty-five years of experience in the mortgage industry. Baldwin comes to Residential Mortgage from the Pacific Northwest, where he led four successful mortgage companies from startup. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
Ahtna Engineering Services brings Proposal Coordinator Connor Weiss to its team. Weiss earned degrees in management information systems and marketing from Washington State University. He previously worked for Ahtna as a laborer on projects in Metlakatla and Shemya Island.
Ahtna Engineering Services also adds Marketing and Communications Manager Laura Reishus to its team. Prior to joining AES, Reishus served as development director for Habitat for Humanity.
Ahtna Environmental adds Marketing and Communications Manager Katy Kless to its team. She has worked in marketing for sixteen years, eleven of those in the A/E/C industry.
Ahtna Global brought aboard Jacob Henkel as a Senior Project Engineer in the construction division. Based in the Anchorage office, Henkel brings many years of construction experience, having worked as a project engineer for both Alaska Frontier Constructors and Granite Construction Company and as a heavy equipment operator the ten years prior.
Ahtna Global also adds Proposal Coordinator Chase Quinn to its team. She works closely with capture managers, project managers, and other proposal group staff to prepare proposals and bids to be submitted to clients that are compliant, responsive, and on time. Prior to this role, she was with HDR Engineering for four years as a project coordinator.
Ahtna Solutions hired Michelle McGarry as Senior Proposal Manager. With more than fifteen years of proposal management experience, McGarry has led proposal teams across the United States.
Alexandra Hoyt is now Project Manager II with Ahtna Engineering Services. Hoyt joined Ahtna in 2013 as an environmental scientist/biologist. Hoyt holds an MA degree in geography: environment, society, and development from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a BS degree in community and environmental studies (with a minor in business administration), from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire.
Justin Dunn has been promoted to Program Manager with Ahtna Environmental, Inc.’s construction services division. Dunn has more than fourteen years in the industry and joined Ahtna Environmental, Inc. in February 2019 as a senior project manager.
The Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska is promoting Christa Green to the position of Head Start Director. Green first joined Tlingit & Haida in 2001 as a teacher aide for Head Start, a free federal program that provides comprehensive early childhood education.
Tlingit & Haida is also hiring Stephen Qacung Blanchett as Cultural Heritage Manager. Blanchett grew up in Bethel and is a performing artist, culture-bearer, and an arts and culture educator. He holds a bachelor’s degrees in political science and Alaska Native studies from UAA. As the cultural heritage manager, Blanchett will collaborate with tribal programs and partners to support Southeast Alaska Indigenous language, arts, and cultural education and preservation.
Juneau’s urban Native corporation hired a new General Manager for its Tram up Mount Roberts. Douglas King comes aboard with more than thirty years of experience in tourism and hospitality, most recently returning from Grenada where he served as general manager for a five-star plantation resort. King has a bachelor’s degree in business and international tourism, which has taken him to lodges, resorts, hotels, and outdoor adventure companies in Africa, the South Pacific, Asia, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
Ambriel C. Sandone was born and raised in Wasilla. She studied at the University of Oregon School of Law, where she also tutored law students in Oregon’s Legal Research and Writing Program and served as co-director of the Native American Law Students Association and executive editor of the Oregon Law Review. Sandone’s practice focuses on Alaska Native law, litigation, corporate and business law, and real estate development and transactions.
Casey K. Gilmore focuses her practice on Alaska Native Law, corporate and tribal law, civil litigation, real estate development and transactions, bankruptcy, collections, and creditor’s rights. Gilmore was born and raised in Anchorage. She studied at the Willamette University College of Law & Atkinson Graduate School of Management, where she was a writer and editor-in-chief for Willamette Law Online.
The Tribal Council of Ketchikan Indian Community appointed Randy Williams as Tribal Administrator. He replaces Charles White, who served as tribal administrator for the past two years. A Tlingit born in Ketchikan, Williams graduated from Dartmouth College and has put his knowledge and skills to work managing tribal casinos in the Lower 48 and serving as CEO of the Colville Tribal Enterprise Corporation.
