urora Integrated Oncology Foundation (AIOF) is transforming cancer care in Alaska. Operating four clinics—Anchorage Radiation Oncology Center, Mat-Su Radiation Oncology Center, Peninsula Radiation Oncology Center, and Southeast Radiation Oncology Center—AIOF delivers advanced services and comprehensive support for patients and their families. The clinics offer integrative services, including nutrition, palliative care, and social work, available in person and through Telemedicine. “We’re not just seeing them through their radiation oncology; we help navigate the physical, emotional, and practical challenges that may come with a cancer diagnosis,” says Vice President of Community Engagement and Philanthropy Jess Gutzwiler.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AIOF goes beyond cancer treatment. Through strategic philanthropy and collaboration, it offers “upstream” services statewide to help Alaskans detect cancer early. Last year, AIOF hosted impactful Alaska State Fair and Beer for My Boys screening events, raising awareness for hundreds of participants. AIOF also alleviates financial barriers to care by granting eligible patients up to $2,000 annually for utilities, transportation, and other basic necessities.
AIOF is dedicated to strengthening cancer care across Alaska, and not just through its clinics. “It’s about supporting local organizations and nonprofits—extending resources to provide comfort, advocacy, and assistance to any Alaskan fighting cancer,” Gutzwiler says.
